Reminder! Summer Programme No.13 - Heysham

Our thirteenth summer outing is tomorrow Monday 14th August to Half Moon Bay Heysham.

Meet at the car park opposite the café, Smithy Lane, LA3 2LA at 7pm.

Half Moon Bay stretches from the wall of Heysham Harbour up the coast to the Heritage Centre at Lower Heysham. At high tide the beach is small, backed by rocks and grassy hills but at low tide a vast expanse of sand and mudflats are exposed.

There are views across Morecambe Bay and towards the Lakeland fells. At St Peter’s Church Heysham Head, which is close by, there are some stone graves which were once used for the cover of an album by Black Sabbath.

The suggestion for the evening is to look for interesting foregrounds and rock pools.

Everyone is welcome.
