Following on from Chorley PS' success at the recent FIAP World Cup, where we achieved 7th place out of 213 participating clubs from around the world.
It became apparent that the club did not have enough members producing 'Exhibition' standard images to compete at this level in the future.
As a way forward, to push for further success and compete seriously in both National and International Competitions in the future, the committee feel that there is a need to build up;
a) a 'Bank' of exhibition/competition images
b) a nucleus of members who are regularly entering exhibitions and those who fully
intend to start entering.
In order to achieve this, a second 'Exhibition' critique group has been created for members who wish to regularly enter exhibitions. The aim of this group being to show/discuss images that;
c) are intended to be entered into exhibitions
d) have been entered and NOT accepted with a view to how they can be improved
e) have been successful winning awards.
f) to supply Jane with images that can be put in the 'Bank' for use by the club.
The committee appreciate that not every member wishes to go down the exhibition route and as such, the original critique group will continue running to mentor members interested in obtaining distinctions/accreditations or who simply wish to improve their photography in general.
Meeting dates for both groups will be updated on the clubs website in the next few weeks.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the committee to discuss any points you may have.
Thank you!
