CPS is back and Virtual


Following our first virtual critique using a combination of our competition portal and Zoom, we are now pleased to publish our plans for the next few weeks. This will consist of a mixture of online competitions, chatter and critique. Most of these sessions will be held using the Zoom video conference software, so if you haven't got it already, please take the time to register and download it.


We will be back meeting on a Monday evening at 8pm. Using Zoom, our meetings will be clearly be virtual. So, our plan is as follows:


  • Monday 4th May: Members Zoom Meeting - Show and Tell. An opportunity to catch-up with fellow members. It would be great is you could share some of the photography you've been up to. Just have the images ready on your computer and we can share them on the night.

  • Monday 11th May: Members Zoom Meeting - Show and Tell. An opportunity to catch-up with fellow members. It would be great is you could share some of the photography you've been up to. Just have the images ready on your computer and we can share them on the night.

  • Monday 18th May: Annual PDI Competition. Although we have previously closed this competition in the portal, we have reopened the portal for any amendments you might want to make before closing it on May 11th ahead of judging.

  • Monday 25th May: Competition - Lockdown Macro. We are looking for all your lockdown macro images. So whether it's water droplets, flowers, insects or household objects close up, we would love to see your macro images taken during this lockdown. The competition will be judged online in Zoom is open now in the portal and has a closing date of 18th May. Our judge will be confirmed in due course.

  • Wednesday 27th May: May's Online Critique. Entries as usual in the the portal. The portal will close for entries 1 week before the meeting. Following closure of the meeting, members will be able to comment on all images in the session ahead of the on online critique.

  • Monday 1st June: Competition - Lockdown in the Kitchen. Our second Lockdown competition and we are looking for images of things found in the kitchen, taken during this lockdown. This is a fairly wide brief, so you may want to try food photography, still life, dropping strawberries in cream, macro of kitchen objects and even the popular egg on two forks. The competition will be judged online in Zoom is open now in the portal and has a closing date of 25th May. Our judge will be confirmed in due course.
