L&CPU Judging Seminar: Interested in becoming a Judge?


Are you interested in becoming an L&CPU Judge?

The L&CPU like to invite you to register for the federation Judging Seminar, which will be held at Elmbank Conference Centre, Half Edge Lane, Eccles M30 9BA on Sunday 18th November 2018 . You will need to attend this seminar, then be recommended by the panel of L&CPU judges present, in order to be invited onto the L&CPU official list of judges. All candidates will receive an email after the event, with the result of the panel’s recommendation. Successful candidates will be invited to a second (half day) new judges event, prior to being officially entered onto the L and CPU Judges list.

  • Date: Sunday 18th November 2018

  • Location: Elmbank Conference Centre, Half Edge Lane, Eccles M30 9BA

  • Car Parking: There is free car parking at the venue

  • Doors open: 10 am. Registration, Tea and coffee from 10 am to 10:30 am. Start time: 10:30 am Lunch approximately 1pm-1:45pmFinishing time – about 4:30 pm (all times are approximate).

Provisional Content:

  • Introduction.

  • Group work with existing Judges before and immediately after lunch.

  • A short written exercise to assess your judging style. Your exercise sheet will be kept confidential but will be used in the assessment.

  • Presentation skills. Candidates will be asked to appraise one image in front of the group (candidates who do not want to be considered for the judging list need not do this)

  • Question and Answer session with the panel of judges Reading list

Attendees should bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided, but you might like to bring additional drinks as the bar will not be open. Places are limited, so please register for the event by applying for your free ticket on the L and CPU Portal at https://www.lcpu-portal.org/launch
