The Data Protection Laws in the UK are changing on May 25th, when the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into force. These new regulations place additional obligations on any organisation that process personal data, irrespective of their size. So these regulations apply to everyone from your window cleaner to Google and even the government. Therefore, it includes photographic societies such as ours.
For us, these new regulations are particularly relevant to the membership and competition data we hold. With this in mind, we have completed a review of what data that we hold, how it is stored and how long we keep it.
Our new Privacy Statement can be found on our website, click here, which outlines how we use and manage our members data, along with a wider view of the GDPR.
If you have any questions relating to the club’s Data Protection processes, please contact Will Stead directly for further details.
